Grant funding for the municipality in Iceland with the help of Qualitas
19. June 2023.
The Icelandic municipality of Ölfus, located near Reykjavik, has chosen Qualitas for the support of the application of a partnership project involving an innovative model of green e-mobility.
The total value of the project amounts to 1.6 million euros, with the share of the Ölfus municipality being 358.5 thousand euros. The goal of the project is the decarbonization of transportation, increasing socio-economic inclusion, promoting green mobility, and facilitating the transition to energy-neutral communities. The Ölfus Cluster will also be involved in the implementation through collaboration with the business community. The cluster was established with the purpose to strengthen and support the local economy with the ideology of the green and blue economy as a guiding principle.
Qualitas has been engaged to help ensure that 65% of the project budget is co-financed under the Interreg Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme (Interreg NPA). Interreg NPA is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and equivalent financial resources from ERDF partner countries that are not EU members.
